According to Guinness World Records, the holiday perennial "White Christmas" (1942) by Bing Crosby is the best-selling single worldwide, with estimated sales of over 50 million copies. It was released before the pop/rock singles-chart era and still retains the title more than 50 years later. All other versions of the song, along with Bing Crosby's, has estimated sales over 100 million copies. This is the record that no one can beat even modern pop artists like Lady Gaga or Gangnam Style. The best runner-ups are "Candle In The Wind" by Elton John (33m) and "Silent Night" by, again, Bing Crosby (30m).
